A new Meme is being launched called That's my world. so click on the Icon and join.Last week our trip took us to Roseburg, on our way to the coast, we had lived there for over 40 yrs and i have to admit we never went to the Museum there, Which we ended up staying at the Fairgrounds in the RV Park. But it was too late to go inside, but did capture these photos. Logging was a Major part of this community, which is not that way anymore.
Also is a nice area for camping and fishing.check it out.
Interesting post!
ReplyDeleteI like your photos, especially the last with the truck on the road and the fog in the background.
Steam Donkey!

It's funny how they called that machine a Steam Donkey. It would have been interesting to see it "move through the woods".

ReplyDeleteThe steam donkey looks interesting...will have to point it out to my husband since he likes anything mechanical :-)
ReplyDeleteI went thru Roseburg on on the way to a bell choir convention in Medford. We stopped to eat at Wendy's. The following fall, my granddaughter got a job teaching in Roseburg in a Lutheran School and is still there.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't really have time to look around so this is a nice photo journey for me.
Very interesting, I have never seen a steam donkey before!
ReplyDeleteThat donkey has some heavy legs!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how sometimes we don't take advantage of the history in our own area? I recently went on a guided tour of my city and learned quite a bit. Your logging history is quite fascinating.
