I doubt you'll remember me, but I stayed at the Tom Tom in July 2004. I was riding a dirt bike and headed to San Francisco from my home in Toronto. I spent a while that morning trying to buy a new rear tire and lubricating my drive chain in your parking lot.
I just want to tell you that I've written a book about my trip west, which will be published next September by Knopf and will, apparently, be sold in every bookstore in America. It's called "Zen and Now" because I followed the ride west by author Robert Pirsig, whose book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" was published in 1974.
You and Room 4 will be famous! Do you still own the Tom Tom?
Mark, I do hope that you come back and read this. But yes i do remember you.I think you got the tire down the street with not a happy note. Won't mention any names. Yes we still own the motel. at least for now, we have it on the market for sale. I would love to do what you did, not write however as i am a terrible writer. And not on a bike either. But in our motor home. I would love to get a copy of the book. So please keep me informed as to when it comes out for sure. Did you take a photo of the room? But most importantly i hope we got a good review.? This certainly is a small world isn't it? For you to find me on a blog site.

It really looks cold in that picture! It was in the 70's here today. Soon it will turn cold again and it will seem twice as bad.
