I didn't want to have to post any more snow but i did find this and the Yellow really does stand out in the snow. This was taken in Chemult Or, on our way home from our vacation this yr, also see that Icicle that is hanging from the over hang of our Motor home.

For my first post I am using the Bison,Or Buffalo, which ever you prefer to call them.This was taken at the National Bison Range in Montana on our way to Glacier National Park.



The National Bison Range was established with the first Congressional appropriations ever made for the purchase of lands for a national wildlife refuge. The original herd of bison, released in 1909, was purchased with private money from the American Bison Society; the herd was then donated to the Range. The National Bison Range helped bring the bison back from the edge of extinction. Today, 350 to 500 bison call the Range home.

Thank you so much Meggie for giving me this beautiful award. I love to visit Meggie at Meggie's Stuff Please visit her as she has a very nice blog. Oh and she wears these funny little purple cowboy boots.
When i found her site it reminded me a lot of the things I love to do and that is remodel. She was in the middle of redoing her bathroom, funny cause that is what we were doing.

So I would like to pass this on to a few of the people that make my day. First i will start with Dot who started Sky Watch Friday , Sorry Dot i know you have a no tag sign up but I want to thank you again for starting this. So now i will pass it on to Tom Who took over Sky Watch Friday and is doing a great job at making sure that everyone who posts gets his personal approval.

This is a photo of the sunset at the Columbia Gorge last yr. One of our free camping spots at Rufus
For over 31,000 years, the Columbia River Gorge has supported flourishing civilizations. Evidence of the Folsom and Marmes people, who crossed the Great Continental Divide from Asia, were found in archaeological digs. Excavations at Five Mile Rapids, a few miles east of The Dalles, show humans have occupied this ideal salmon fishing site for more than 10,000 years.

The Columbia River Plateau was created by a series of basalt flows. The flows covered 164,000 square kilometers -- portions of northeast Oregon, southwest Washington and western Idaho.

For those that don't know it, we own a small Quint Motel, here is my Reader Board in Yellow.See all that snow? That is what we came home too from our month long vacation in Jan. We close the motel so no one was shoveling snow. What a mess that was to do .

This side of the wall has photos of Old Motorcycles. That black thing in the middle is a clock, also it used to sound like a motor cycle revving up when you pushed the buttons, See my Harley Teddy Bear on the side? Got him when we did the Rt 66 trip few yrs ago.

This is our biker friendly room, We get a lot of bikers in the summer time. The photos on this side of the wall are photos of old cars, Notice the car on top of the DVD Player? It is a VCR rewinder, when you have the vhs in there, the head lights come on.

Don't you think this little car is the cutest thing? I am not sure if its a golf cart or just an elect car, it was at a truck stop in Arizona
This was at the Yuma Prison. How would you like to take a ride in that. Pretty all black with yellow wheels

If you don't know it by now it is tax season, and this guy is going to make sure that you know he is wanting your business. So everyday since the first of the year. He or his wife have been out there in this costume trying to get your attention.

Two types of cutters

Today this is what we listened too all day long, it is digging thru the rocks, it broke down for awhile so had some peace and quiete. Not sure what or why they are digging with this, we thought they were all done. When you click on the photo you can see the Big Teeth of that thing

Now this is what we listened too yesterday, it cuts concrete, which not sure what this is going to be for, just made one long cut along the road. I suspect maybe the gas line. This poor road has had so many paint marks on it, I wonder if everyone knows what each of the colors of paint are for.I will be so glad when they get all this work done. I think they have started to work inside the
Sonics building now.
And here is another shot of the building with all the sides up. From my earlier post of when they were putting the frame up. So this is the progress they have gotten done so far. Wonder if they would like to pay me for these photos? LOL

Palasades Cove

A Legacy of Fire and Water
Geologists believe that 10-12 million years ago, alternating
layers of stream sediments, volcanic debris and basaltic lava
flows from the Cascade Range were deposited into a huge
basin in this area. Named “The Deschutes Formation,” these
exposed layers of material were capped by lava flows from
Cascade volcanoes three million years ago. This cap, known
as “The Rim rock Basalt,” is easily seen throughout the park
high atop the cliffs. Subsequent periods of water erosion and
volcanic activity have formed the dramatic canyons and vertical
cliffs seen today.
Named “The Cove” by the original homesteader, the word
“Palisade” refers to the tall column-like formations in the
basalt rim rocks. Lake Billy Chinook was formed by the
construction of Round Butte Dam in 1964 and named for
a Wasco tribesman who guided explorer John C. Fremont
through the area in 1843.
Ancient area inhabitants carved mysterious symbols into a
massive boulder called the “Crooked River Petroglyhph.” It
lies near the group camp below a formation called Ship Rock.
