Last week our trip took us to Roseburg, on our way to the coast, we had lived there for over 40 yrs and i have to admit we never went to the Museum there, Which we ended up staying at the Fairgrounds in the RV Park. But it was too late to go inside, but did capture these photos. Logging was a Major part of this community, which is not that way anymore.
For those that would like to know and see more about logging there is a place south of Bend near Chiliquin Or. called Collier Logging Museum
Also is a nice area for camping and fishing.check it out.
We did run into several of these, which was a good sign, that ment some people still had jobs for awhile.

Interesting post!
I like your photos, especially the last with the truck on the road and the fog in the background.
Steam Donkey!
What a name! :) Nice shots of your place.
It's funny how they called that machine a Steam Donkey. It would have been interesting to see it "move through the woods".
Lovely photos of where you are. Very interesting to learn above steam donkey. Without the photo and information, I would think that someone steamed a donkey....lol. Happy tuesday.
That's typical, when you live in a town you forget to visit special places that's for when you a coming back !
Thanks for telling us about this area and the steam donkey. I love the truck coming down in the highway surrounded by the lovely trees and mist.
Interesting piece of equipment with an even more interesting name..
Great your trip World.

Great shots! and I love them because I love Oregon, lived there for a number of years, still miss it. Love that "Steam Donkey"
That "steam donkey" looked like the most bizarre equipment I have ever seen. But as long as it did its job...
Interesting about the steam donkey. I wish I could visit your part of the world.
I saw the rest of the pictures in your other blog. Nice offering for this week. I love the drive to Oregon we took two years ago.
I see several logging trucks each week in my area. Very nice shot here!
What an interesting & wonderful world you have. Can't wait to see what you see during your travels. Happy & safe trails.
That Steam DOnkey is a very interesting piece of equipment. Be something to see in action. I also like that last shot of the truck with the fog.
The steam donkey looks interesting...will have to point it out to my husband since he likes anything mechanical :-)
I went thru Roseburg on on the way to a bell choir convention in Medford. We stopped to eat at Wendy's. The following fall, my granddaughter got a job teaching in Roseburg in a Lutheran School and is still there.
We didn't really have time to look around so this is a nice photo journey for me.
Very interesting, I have never seen a steam donkey before!
That donkey has some heavy legs!
Isn't it funny how sometimes we don't take advantage of the history in our own area? I recently went on a guided tour of my city and learned quite a bit. Your logging history is quite fascinating.
Great shots and very interesting information.
very appealing. thanks for sharing your world.
