Where there is smoke there is beautiful sky

My sky watch is after these
6-28-08
Tonight Nevada was out watering, the temperature today was HOT HOT HOT almost reaching 97 degrees. He came in and said you need to go look at the sky its beautiful, as he knows that i love to take photos of sky. I grabbed the camera and out i went, flashing away, and then the smell came. I got this shot of my kitchen window.

Here is the end result of that beautiful sky, filled with all the smoke, have not heard yet where it is exactly but it is towards the Sisters area. Fires seem to be all over the place and so early in the yr.California has so many fires going now, it is sad. Many of our firefighters are there, but with the fires starting here it will be very scary, everything is so dry.

Your sky look like my sky...full of smoke but the orange sunsets are crazy beautiful! There are over 1300 wildfires going on here in N. California last I heard (tonight's news). But thankfully our temperatures have been very mild this week, 70s and low 80s. Last week it was in the 100s.

Great photos. I just love your sky pictures and was happy N called your attention to it. As for fires, I am very respectful of them because if you are not respectful of fires, they can do lots of damage. Most people are lucky and never experience a house fire, but the old worn out houses I grew up in were fire traps to begin with. I went through three house fires so to say I am skerred of fires is an understatement. Last evening here we got a little shower but some rain is better than none. I have been doing the same job daily as N. Peace be with you.

It's gorgeous, but I hope for the sake of everyone it goes away soon, that the beautiful sunsets come from clouds instead.

isn't it amazing how nature can be so beautiful and so brutal at the same time.

I hope the fires are brought under control.

incredible colours, I've never seen a sky so red.
But I've never been really near a forest fire's smoke either.

We had 102 yesterday. I felt like your photos -- on fire! Today it was just 96 so a little more bearable, but barely. . .
