Sky Watch Friday

If you would like to join Sky Watch Friday please Click here and join Tom, Imac,Sandy & Klaus

Here are some photos i took at the coast last week. The weather was the best and i have to say i really enjoyed myself over there. I am not one to like our coast, as usually it is rainy, windy, foggy. But for the 3 days that we were there it was perfect.

So this photo was taken on the dock, I took the photo because of the sludge or whatever you call that stuff, but after seeing it i also noticed the clouds and boat on the water.Altho you can't see the sky all that, well you can see it better in the water, along with the bridge
Again a much better cloud formation in the water then the sky. Don't you think?

Great set of photos, love your reflections shots.

I like the reflected skies, even the sludge is kind of abstract and interesting (if you don't think about what it's probalby made of!). And the driftwood stump is spectacular! Nice series.

Thank you for sharing all your great photos. I love the reflection captured in the water. Also is that a small rocky island just off the shore.

I recognize the rock with the trees at Sunset Beach :) Yes I like the sky reflected in the water.

Those are beautiful! I love the reflections of the sky in the water. And the tangle of wood reminds me of deer dancing!

What wonderful reflections in the water...much better than the actual sky at times! I also like your coast scenes...beautiful. We drove part of the Oregon coast when we went to Sisters for the quilt show and I remember how beautiful it was. Would like to do it again sometime.

Wondeful reflections of the sky in the water. I've always loved blue skies with puffy white clouds.
Great shots.

Amazing series of shots!
In the last shot, the dry branches look as if they are deer's tangled antlers.

Lilli, I love these pictures, especially the last three. The stump is very unusual and so is that big rock out in the water.

Great photos - I love reflection shots. And isn't it great to have better than average weather when you aren't expecting it?

Perfect set for Skywatch! With a good eye, even sludge can be turned into a good photo.
Love the shot of the island where the geological sea erosion is spread out like an open book, the way the headland has been washed away.
The last on I would be tempted to call 'rutting elk' with all those weathered roots sticking up like antlers.

Interesting little island sitting out there by itself. I wonder why all the leaves are gone from those trees, but not the trees on the mainland.

To answer your question about the colors on the praying mantis, I read that they like to "adapt" to their surroundings so those living amongst plants are green while those living amongst dead leaves are brown.
